I don’t vaccinate my girls for most of the required vaccinations (not including flu or covid, which we don’t vaccinate for either) only a few that we think were/are more necessary. They’re 5 & 8, perfectly healthy kids.
Until they get measles
We vaccinate selectively and do include MMR and DTaP.
Where’d you get your medical degree?
My husband and I are highly educated professionals.. Let parents make their own choices
Highly educated professional whats?
Husband is a personal injury attorney, and I work in investing banking.
Okay. Do you think a doctor (who is a highly educated professional) would do better in court by hiring a lawyer and following their advice or by representing themself and specifically making an argument that they were advised against, by not only your husband but by every lawyer they consulted, as well as the well-publicized advice of the American Bar Association? As someone who works in investment banking, what would you think if a (highly educated, professional) doctor told you that because of their research they’d decided to ignore your advice and invest all their money in the latest “hot tip”, even though you think it a poor risk? In fact, they’ve mortgaged their home and maxed out their credit cards to invest in this boondoggle. Theoretically, it could possibly work out and you’d probably hope it does, but it’s a huge gamble that could be disastrous if it doesn’t. The whole point of experts is that there is too much knowledge for any individual (no matter how well educated) to master it all. That’s not to say that we should blindly follow whatever a specific expert may say (they’re only human, after all, and thus fallible). However when there is universal agreement among experts in a field that disagrees with our own inexpert opinion, I think we should be highly skeptical of our conclusions and why they differ from the consensus of the experts who specialize in that field.
