The way this team has played in the past, it looked like a teenager was coaching them and sending them out there. LU looks like a High School team playing kickball
Yes, it really did. And he did so for 7 years. Between his compensation and those of the so called professional players now LU is in an insurmountable financial hole. Is there a legal way of saving that club/organization?
You think they are going to fold completely or get booted down a notch from USL-C to USL-1? It's a tough go at USL-C playing at that venue which is in the middle of nothing. What's going to draw folks to the games - need to have a superior product on the pitch to make that happen. Hell - the Annapolis Blues just moved to USL-2 last season and are drawing well over 8000 fans a match. They are a marketing machine when it compares to LU. Heck, even down in Richmond, the USL1 Kickers that play in old school City Stadium average about 4500 fans a game, 1/2 the number of fans at LU contests.
Actually, they are getting booted down not because they suck, which they do both on the field and in the office, but because that’s USL’s prerogative. They announced last summer a new structure. USL D1 - first tier USL Championship - second tier current USL1 - third tier current USL2 (summer league) - 4th tier but undecided if it’ll be year round or remain as summer option for college folks and washed up dudes reliving their glory days. Safe to say we may lose a USL presence in Loudoun considering they will be administratively demoted AND the financials don’t justify continued expenditures for people who wouldn’t be paid in European 3rd and 4th tiers. Math won’t math no matter the passion.
Segra doesn't meet the minimum seating capacity for the first tier. Unless the club or county invest to expand the stadium, it's automatic demotion to the lower tier to start.
It will cease to exist. Already a plan to build data centers there. Give it 18 months to see it come to fruition. You saw it here first.
Much better investment for the county…land is worth a premium. The current infrastructure can be removed fairly quickly.
