I’m a moco resident — I prefer it to Nova. But a lot of moco people here have their heads in the sand on the downward trajectory of the county or they are moco political hacks lurking here. Given that federal salaries aren’t keeping up with inflation, and DOGE cuts, we are going to wish we were 20th in a couple of years. Face it, we’ve had decades of one party incompetent leadership. It won’t change until the incumbents all go and the political system becomes more competitive.
All fluff and no data. Federal salaries never keep up with inflation, never. It won’t change until we get rid of Frumpy. Just leave I don’t understand people like you that stay in a place they don’t like.
I got to you, didn’t I? What’s the fluff? The inflation data that you agree with? Are the Doge cuts fake? Maybe the fall in MoCo’s rankings? Do you think the fact that it never keeps up with inflation might mean it’s not all Trumpys fault but lack of diversity in the economy? Do you know how to argue? What I don’t understand is people who move to a county and don’t try to improve anything and pretend it’s great.
No, you didn’t get to me, honey. You are just blustering about nothing that is back to my data. I’m not sure how Montgomery County government is involved in DOGE, can you explain that to me? It doesn’t keep up with inflation because of the stability and our retirement and healthcare. People are willing to give up money for comfort. I’ve lived here my whole life believe me it is way better than the 70s 80s and 90s. I don’t understand why people come here and complain when there’s nothing wrong.
You do understand that it was County leadership’s decision for a long time to treat the County like a bedroom community for federal workers and not worry about spurring business growth and getting more non government jobs, right? Every other county in the area and DC has done a much better job at attracting businesses. And all of these politicians in these other counties are Dems, not MAGA. Well now with the DOGE cuts and the NIH cuts it is going to really drive home how idiotic these policies are. Most of the county funding will need to come by raising income taxes and property taxes on homeowners and residents - a lot of them feds who can’t afford it - because of the county’s inability to grow alternate revenue streams, namely from business taxes and taxes generated by robust private housing and retail development. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
