Because I think overly concerned mothers are a HUGE part of why boys/young men are struggling in the first place.

I've known SO many men whose mothers coddle them and protect them from the consequences of their actions, even in adulthood. One 40 year old man I knew had his mother pay for everything - his rent, food, etc - because he was too "depressed" to work! I've seen moms pay for bail and attorneys when their adult sons got DUIs, side with their sons when they beat their own wives and children.....my former MIL used to tell my xH that I was a bad wife because I didn't "take care of him" by cooking and cleaning for him every night (even though I worked full time and paid 70% of our bills!).

Too many moms don't want their sons to be MEN, they want them to be babies. And too many fathers don't stand up and teach their sons to be men, they don't want to be bothered. [/quote]
