My son is a sophomore at Bucknell and is so happy he decided to go there. Perfect balance for him - classes are hard but manageable, they are taught by professors and not TAs, the town is connected to campus and there many restaurants you can walk to from campus. It is a work hard play hard school, but you can still fit in if you are not into Greek life. Everyone can go to the Saturday day parties even if you are not in Greek life - the frats all join together to host them which is not typical. He is getting a summer internship set up now - a very high % of sophomore students that want one will get one - the school works closely with Alumni to open up opportunities for the students. As a parent I was a bit leery before we visited based on the feedback I see on DCUM, but allowed him to apply. In the end I am grateful he is at Bucknell and thriving and decided not to go to Kelly or Georgetown. My daughter is very aEtsy and looking at schools now. She also loves Bucknell and thinks she would fit in well. It is more eclectic than DCUM makes it out to be. I doubt most of those making comments have ever visited, and seems they have a chip in their shoulders that you can get an amazing education with great future job prospects while actually enjoying your college experience.
