The bigger problem than simply losing friends is that this mindset comes with a dehumanization of the other side—"It's about their morals, not simply politics"—which leads to the political violence that is becoming a hallmark of the left.
Meh. I can judge you as immoral and amoral and not hurt you. Disliking someone doesn’t lead to violence for normal people.
Exactly. What MAGA and the GOP don't seem to grasp is that their lies about "the left" calling people fascists leading to violence is just another projection of their hateful, violent mindset. We are pointing out the actual, real world actions of this administration that are authoritarian. We are not calling for violence. Democrats and liberals want due process, rule of law, freedom of speech restored; we want the ICE agents to stop acting like thugs; we want things like gun control, health care for everyone, help for the poor and marginalized. These values DO NOT align with shooting people. We vote; we march. MAGA hates and hates bigly, they love their guns and big talk of violence of those that oppose them, so they assume the go to for angry people is to violence. They assume others are the same. WE ARE NOT. We can cut someone off because we find your lack of any moral compass repugnant and have no intent to harm whatsoever. If only MAGA weren't so fond of cruelty for cruelty's sake.
