I guess the English Teacher/gym teacher thing (she's just making a joke about how she's kind of bookish nerd and he's a jock, it's not that deep) but I don't get your comment. What joke are they in on? They strike me as medium emotionally intelligent -- obviously not totally obtuse but also, like a lot of celebrities, probably a bit oblivious and self-centered. Even posting this announcement in this way speaks to being mildly tone deaf. That's like 40k in flowers for a photo.[/quote]

I do think she would have been bookish had she had a normal childhood and gone to college. I do think she is a kind of poet. I agree that she is not actually well read and I found the theme of TTPD kind of cringe in that way. Like just embrace that you are like an old school poet, not educated, just writing music about your life. Don't pretend you're the equivalent of a college English professor. It's kind of insulting.

Travis is more qualified to teach HS gym than Taylor is qualified to teach HS English, I wish she had a little self awareness about that. She's great, but that doesn't mean being a pop star is the same as actually attending college.[/quote]
