They might have travelled a little, but they remain unable to see anything beyond their extremely limited life experiences. For example: - as horrible and paternalistic as your view of arranged marriages may be, it works perfectly in most cases for the 1 billion+ citizens of India and 80+ million citizens of Pakistan, who tend to marry that way.
