Cuomo wants to spend $1B on more cops when crime is going down, I don’t see anybody asking how he plans to pay for that. And again, he’s a sex pest and that ought to be disqualifying on its own. Everybody here seems to be OK with most of the candidates not named Cuomo or Mamdani, why not just rank 5 of them in whatever order you like? But don’t rank Cuomo, he sucks.
Quality of life crimes are not going down. Lies. Damn lies. Statistics. And crimes are not being prosecuted. Unfortunately no one decent ran against Bragg so we are likely stuck with him. By making the city safe people want to live here, businesses want to be here and tourists want to come here. Pays for itself. Mamdani has likely barely balanced a checkbook, nevertheless a ridiculously complicated budget of a gigantic city. The NY Times agrees with me on this - not making it up. And again, he lost me at "rent freeze." Dumbest idea I've ever. Rent should go up by inflation. Or some formula that factors in the increase in real estate taxes and utility prices. By the way, in addition to Bowdoin, your "man of the people" was apparently too good for public school and went to Bank Street. He lived on the UWS. Plenty of great public schools. All we hear about is Bronx Science. Tough life.
