Mono is not a disability for goodness sake! Besides sleeping, the kid is probably on the phone or playing video games all day. OP - I would make my kid work in their resume/cover letter, research and find potential summer jobs and volunteering opportunities, do a list and apply to them in-person or online and show you proof.
