The criteria for refugee status generally is persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a group.

I doubt anyone from south or central american countries is persecuted for being, for example, a Latin American Catholic with local nationality.

There hasn't been any compelling evidence of persecution based on race presented for the white South Africans either.  They presented info that wasn't even from South Africa.[/quote]
