This thread is amazing. All of DCUM in one magnificent arc. OP - it’s dumb that kids soccer is so expensive and time consuming for basically no good reason. Middle posts (part 1) - OP the problem is YOU are dumb! Middle posts (part 2) - MLS Next is better than ECNL lolz!!! End posts - Everyone is racist!!
Repeat next May
Who claimed everyone is racist? The OP (one who pointed out ECNL is less diverse) pointed out it could be due to the expense. Just look at the Fairfax County demographics alone. 47.7% are White alone, 17.7% are Hispanic, 20.8% are Asian, 11.1% are African-American, and 4.2% identify as mixed-race. If we went with a round number, let's say 15 per team (because U-littles are about 10-12 players, while U13s and up are anywhere from 15-22 players), a diverse team reflecting the actual demographics would look like (per team) 7 White kids, 3 Asian kids, 1-2 African-American kids, and 1 mixed-race kid (per every two teams). Do you know of any ECNL-affiliated team in the Fairfax County area that reflect this type of diversity? I've actually seen two to three ethnic minorities per ECNL/ECRL team in this area. Yes there may be exceptions, but largely, the ECNL/ECRL teams are not diverse. This is not calling anyone or any organization racist. It's just a reality that the high cost of participation in ECNL makes it less diverse.
