I'm living on SS retirement (don't want to touch my 401ks and IRA till I am required to, and they are not substantial) and what irks me is that I can't just take my dog in for a rabies shot without paying for an entire checkup.
Find a vaccine clinic. What irks me as a veterinarian is people want me to vaccinate their pet without examining it first. There is something called the Veterinary Practice Act which defines what I am legally allowed to do for a pet. Because rabies vaccines are done in the interest of public health, clinics can do them without full exams. Legally, a pet needs to have had an exam at my practice in the past 12 months in order for any vaccine to be given. You may not have been away of that. We certainly understand that you have financial limitations. Please understand there are limitations for us as well.
