I certainly did elect him to [b]audit the government, try to root out fraud and waste (i.e. drain the swamp), subject federal bureaucrats to layoffs for the first time in 30 years [/b]and to requirements to come in tonthe office for the first time in 5 years, to close the border, to do rapid mass deportations of illegal immigrants, to stop funding Zelensky,to implement tariffs and reset global trade policy, etc.

And I have never known a Democrat who cared more about the Constitution and the rule of law than I do.  On the contrary, they want to interpret it flexibly to allow for Bill of Rights violating gun control and censorship policy, want to end the electoral college, want non-citizens voting, want unconstitutional powers to “fight Covid,” etc.  They were also quite happy to have Congress abdicate its power of the purse to the executive branch when the bureaucracy was reliably liberal and unresponsive to its bosses during Republican administrations.  Democrats didn’t complain about Biden’s executive orders opening the borders and bringing IN millions of illegals, just about Trump’s executive orders to close the borders and deport the illegals[/quote]

Other than leaving Ukraine out to dry (so much for supporting democracies under threat, right?) none of what you have stated in the bolded has happened. There have been NO audits, there has been no allegation or fraud or abuse, and waste, I suppose, is in the eye of the beholder. Is it waste to have soft diplomacy that won the cold war? Is it waste to have food and milk and drug inspectors? Is it waste to have cancer and Alzheimer's research? I dunno, I think you might be in the deep minority on this one.

Not to mention the idea that federal workers must be subject to layoffs based purely on some arbitrary time window?  WTF?  Federal workers perform all kinds of important functions.  If you lay them off, it should be performance based or because their position is genuinely no longer needed.  The vast majority of current layoffs are not based on either of these criteria.  The real reason for all of this is to stop any government oversight of Trump and Musk's and their cronies businesses.  Or just to hurt people.  Who cares if our food or water is poisoned as long as no one is investigating Space-X.[/quote]
