DMV area hockey is DMV area hockey and the rankings, if you put a lot of faith in that stuff, tell the same story. The average team rating for TM and WLC is almost identical. The only difference worth considering is the leagues they play in. I think back in 2021 TM joined the black bears league (avg team ranking 87.8) which is weaker than the AYHL (89.2) which WLC plays in. AYHL is a non-profit and is unlike black bear which is a corporation and needs to make money even if it means watering down the leagues by adding several teams that probably belong a tier below.
