I’m a GA fan going back to old FCV, but I don’t see how anyone can be happy about having so many GA teams in the DMV. U13 is when the girls are supposed to finally get to break away from playing against the same teams they’ve been playing ad nauseam since U8, but with the explosion of GA clubs in this area it’s now going to continue for another 6 years!
What is with all this playing against different teams? whatever league you move into, you end up, guess what???? Playing against the same teams!!!
The same girls from the top teams at McLean, Loudoun, SYC, Arlington, GFR, Vienna, PWSI, VSA, BRYC, and Alexandria have played against one other countless times over the last 5 years. Moving to ECNL introduces 8 non-NOVA clubs, with only 4 NOVA clubs in the Mid-Atlantic division. Moving to GA currently introduces 11 non-NOVA clubs, with only 3 NOVA clubs in the Mid-Atlantic (up from just 1 last year). Next year, 7 GA Mid-Atlantic clubs will be from NOVA. That's not elite or exclusive, it's more of the same.
So isnt 11 non nova teams more than 8 non nova teams? Not getting your reasoning here. And let's be real alot of those teams outside your area are no where near elite. Having a badge in either league does not mean elite
Agree. I'd just like to see my DD stop playing against so many mediocre NOVA teams. Would be nice if the top talent in the region would concentrate in a smaller number of teams, but we're heading in the opposite direction. Current NOVA situation almost makes Bethesda an attractive option.
So instead of playing mediocre NOVA teams you'd rather drive around the mid atlantic and stay in hotels to play non-NOVA mediocre teams?
Nothing mediocre about Penn Fusion, PDA Blue or even Delco
So maybe Bethesda has some reasonable competition but Va does not. Good try though.
NC Courage, Charlotte Soccer Academy, Richmond United?
