Most of the Ukrainians do not meet asylum criteria. The problem is that a lot of Ukrainians abused the program (U4U), a lot of people who came here was not even eligible for the program (like they were not in Ukraine on the day the war started, some of them lived in Europe for several years and wasn't even in Ukraine). A lot of fake boyfriends who are not Ukrainians came with Ukrainian girlfriends only by paying them a flight ticket price. A lot of Ukrainians paid several thousands of dollars to fake sponsors and now it popped up in the system that the same person sponsored dozens and sometimes even hundreds of Ukrainian. A lot of Ukrainians came under this program from the areas of Ukraine that were never affected by the war, just to have a free ride to US and now traveling across US and posting their travel blogs. Now instead of weeding out all the false refugees, the government might just shot down the program completely. [/quote]

Typical MAGA line.  You have to claim fraud about every program with no evidence -- just so that you can justify destroying it.  You are a simpleton who believes everything you're told without question.

I was at the border of Ukraine during the first weeks of the war when you could hear the air sirens going off on the other side.  The war shifted eastward, but there was no way of knowing then or now if/when it would shift west again.  So the cars and buses were lined up by the hundreds to get out.  Just as you would if there were bombs being dropped a couple of hours' drive east of your home.

Putin has wreaked havoc on this once beautiful country.  They have defended themselves admirably.  We offered sanctuary as we were obligated to do.  They wouldn't be in this mess if we had not talked them into giving up their nukes in the Budapest agreement.  As someone else said, these are the racist Trumpers' dream refugees.  White.  Highly educated.  Why is he sending them back? [/quote]
