I wouldn't put too much stock in your own ability to distinguish forests from trees.  Your talents on that front might not be much better than that of your party, which managed to lose the election convincingly. It's okay for parties to lose. Sometimes one party wins, sometimes the other one does. That's what happens in a democracy. Your party has its own host of nonsensical positions (not to mention an absurd bronzer and hairspray-wearing, mentally addled entertainer masquerading as a president) and its turn to be unseated will come one day too. Assuming we still have a democracy in 4 years.
