Does anyone actually know what happens if your kid returns to school without a fever the day after they were sent home for having a fever?
You don’t even care about your own kids much less anyone else’s. Truly disgusting.
For wanting them to go to school with no fever. Yeah. I’m the bad guy. WTF? Fine I picked them up because they have a fever and now the school wants them out the next day even if they don’t have a fever. That’s a wasteful day off.
Staying home for at least 24 hours after a fever subsides, without the use of fever-reducing medications, is recommended to reduce the risk of spreading contagious illnesses, particularly respiratory viruses like the flu. A fever, especially a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, is a sign that your child's body is fighting off an infection, which could be contagious. For the past two months, so many students have been out sick. In my own classroom, I have had students with flu, Covid, strep, and norovirus. Several kids have had two of these illnesses simultaneously or had one and then another within days. I have also been out sick with all of the above, plus a sinus infection and bronchitis. I beg you to follow the guidance and keep your child home for the requested timeframe. It’s not fair to the other students and staff who are exposed unnecessarily to these illnesses. As you may already know, it is extremely difficult to obtain substitute teachers. As a result, classes are often split among other classes at the grade level. This is bad for everyone. Please keep your children home until they are fever free without the use of medicine for the 24 hours requested.
