I'm sure academics kick up in the upper school, but it's hard to see this group of kids suddenly turning on each other and becoming uber-competitive. I would encourage whoever's asking to discount the reports that come with a layer of hysteria and just breathe. It's not Gossip Girl or Varsity Blues. It's a good school with lots of resources.
