They are over in the jobs forum. Interim US attorney for DC is also threatening law schools and saying they won't hire any grad from a school that teaches any sort of "DEI" in its curriculum. (Which is...pretty much all law schools, given how amorphous "DEI" is.) Not only is this very clearly illegal, it's also just a disgrace.
There is no right or law guaranteeing a job offer. It is apparent that democrats are not used to being told no.
There is a right to not be retaliated against by the government because of your speech or political views. It's in the first amendment.
That didn't stop Biden from going after Elon.
' How and when exactly did Biden go after Musk?
SEC investigations. USAID investigating Starlink, even while they were the ones providing service to Ukraine, that DOD was not willing to reimburse. SpaceX faced DOJ prosecution that they were not hiring non-citizens, specifically parolees. Musk's Tesla compensation package from a few years ago was revoked.
Give me a break. Musk deserved the SEC case. He blatantly violated the law. I’m not deeply versed in the others, but wasn’t the comp package brought by shareholders?
The USAID IG's office was inspecting USAID's oversight of Starlink, announced in May 2024. They had a lot of oversight projects re: USAID's assistance to Ukraine. "Richard Tornetta — who manned the drumkit for Philadelphia-based thrash band Dawn of Correction — was the single shareholder plaintiff named on the suit, filed in 2018, according to The Wall Street Journal."--NY Post. At the time he sued he owned 9 shares. He was ultimately awarded $345 million in legal fees. I vaguely remember reading this a few years back. Found this which provides an overview: https://corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2024/04/23/the-gist-of-tornetta/ Says: . Interesting and fun nuggets include: embarrassing testimony about how much directors literally wept with love for Musk; how Musk hired his divorce attorney as TSLA General Counsel, representing the company in designing literally the largest exec comp package ever for his client; “Colonizing Mars is an expensive endeavor”; citations from Shakespeare, Frankenstein, and Berle and Means; and staggering sums of money sprinkled throughout.
