I haven't seen anyone on the left celebrating Feds getting the boot. It's all the deplorable MAGAs doing the celebrating. And let them have their little bit of fun because the bad shit is about to hit the fan for them. Also, I think every Liberal who is in a position of power in the private sector should make a personal vow to only downsize the known MAGAs on your team and only hire Dems. I know I'll be doing a social media deep dive before each interview and if I see a red hat on any social media profile, buh-bye. And who is gonna stop me? Ya'll got rid of all the big bad DEI monitors. Enjoy unemployment, losers.
Professional conservatives have always known to keep a low profile because of vindictiveness like this, esp. in DC area. Professional liberals have not so they are very easy to spot and eliminate. Political extremism is generally correlated with poor job performance vs. educated moderates and that’s especially true for leftists in the private sector since they are often ideologically opposed to their company’s efforts to maximize profit. So fire away, and I’m sure others will do the same, and the chips will fall where they may. Private sector employment is at will and people get fired all the time. I’ve survived waves and waves of layoffs at this point. Most everyone finds a new job pretty easily since that’s how it rolls, GFC excepted. I’m well aware my company wants to pay me as little as they can and is happy to fire me the moment the cost-benefit analysis shifts. I work here because it rationally maximizes my income per hours worked taking and is otherwise tolerable from a culture and quality of work standpoint.
