My kids are not brats - they are grateful, respectful and grounded despite having never cleaned their school bathroom.  If you want your kids to clean a school bathroom, by all means volunteer them, but don't impose it on everyone else.  I want my kids to spend school time learning the curriculum.[/quote]

Nope, they spend time at home doing chores and time at school learning math. Their teachers teach them math, etc. I teach them how to mop floors. Their teachers do their job and I do mine.

There really is more than one person who would rather their kids learn math and science and writing at school, and save cleaning the bathroom for home. But if you want your kids to do it, I doubt anyone would stop you.

Stop being intellectually dishonest and admit that kids do all sort of things in school other than math, science and writing. There is value in learning life skills in school too. You may feel this is somehow beneath your precious genius, but it most certainly isn’t.
