Open Letter to Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran, I want to commend you for the important work you are doing. Your efforts to address government waste and reduce massive national debt are crucial. As a parent, I worry about my son’s future if your mission fails. I understand that you are facing a lot of criticism, but please know that many of us who hope for a bright future for our children support your efforts and recognize that change is necessary. Stay strong and brave.
What future do you think our children have if the US loses its role as a superpower, which we are about to do?
I have zero effs to give about remaining a super power. We need to take care of our country and its citizens first and foremost.
Here's a good idea. Let's cut out USAID and stop participating in WHO. Let's see, what communicable diseases are still endemic? Polio is endemic in Pakistan. How many visitors does the US get from Pakistan every year? 80,000! Should be fine. Measles is endemic in Indonesia. How many visitors does the US get from Indonesia every year? 400,000. No worries. What about diptheria? Its endemic right here in our own hemisphere still! It can walk in, hundreds of thousands of people every year come legally from across Central and South America. And then there are the 2 million visitors we get each year from India, which has very low diptheria vaccination rates and thousands of cases each year. Good thing we're letting an anti-vaxxer take over the CDC! I look forward to seeing children crippled by polio, young adults rendered infertile from the mumps, and the elderly dying from rubella, because I think that is what it is going to take to teach the red states their lesson.
