It sure does.  His position is a totally normal position that has, for various reasons, engendered feelings toward him that may cause unhinged loons to do something dangerous towards him.  He is/was not receiving protection for something he did as a private citizen but because of work that he did as a government employee.  [/quote]

Fauci governed like an unhinged loon, so its only fitting similar people are drawn to him.
