They are electing a new President and Vice President. https://moco360.media/2024/12/02/county-council-to-elect-new-president-vice-president/ “The council will elect its new president and vice president for the 2025 council legislative session. Council Vice President Kate Stewart (D-Dist. 4) is likely to be elected as the council’s president for 2025, as council tradition dictates that the current vice president follows as council president the following year.“ “… councilmembers Will Jawando (D-At-large), Laurie-Anne Sayles (D-At-large), Marilyn Balcombe (D-Dist. 2), Kristin Mink (D-Dist. 5), Natali Fani-González (D-Dist. 6) and Dawn Luedtke (D-Dist. 7) are the most likely to run for the seat.”
Kate Stewart got the presidency and Jawando is the vice. https://mocoshow.com/2024/12/03/kate-stewart-elected-montgomery-county-council-president-will-jawando-as-vice-president/
Which mean Jawando is next. Lord.
Well, They are introducing a resolution Tuesday that makes a council president step down immediately if he runs for another office. Cuz Jawando will run for CE. So maybe he won't want the presidency to begin with. However we will see if there are at least 7 with a backbone to vote yes on this
So that is how they are going to deny Jawando the Presidency. The problem with Montgomery County is these folks fancy themselves as Frank Underwood’s but they are actually Selina Meyer.
He doesn't have the skill set to be president. That would require him to care about something outside himself.
