Alg 1 in 6th is not Alg 2.

Are we talking about the same thing? I was talking about how wealthy Potomac schools offer Algebra 2 in 8th grade and you or someone else responded that low income schools offer it too. Unless you meant your school offered Algebra 1. Yeah, that is not a problem since every middle school offers Algebra 1 and Honors Geometry as an advanced track now. Only the wealthy schools offer Algebra 2 in 8th. Low or medium income schools have to bus the kids somewhere else.

I am looking for the name of any low income school that does not offer a magnet program but offers Algebra 2 in 8th. I cannot find even one. Even Argyle and Parkland that are Stem while school magnets do not offer Algebra 2 in 8th grade [/quote]
