Who is communicating via team manager???  If my kid is injured, I email the coach.  If we have a conflict, I email the coach.  WTF- would I bother with a middle man?

I got sucked into manager one year when my kid was new to a team and nobody else would step up. It is a thankless job.  But, the team was very, very appreciative--parents gave me a big gift at the end of year.  That said, I never talked to the coach about players or playing time or gossip or 'my thoughts'.  I was there solely to communicate game times, help get head count confirmation (ppl notorious bad about rsvping), and any other logistical stuff.

I have, of course, seen the abuse of power in many clubs we have been a part of where the role was taken solely for personal interest and they are in the coach's ear constantly. That said, I still would never want the job again so they can have at it :lol: .  I'm not going to get upset about it. It is what it is.  This stuff happens everywhere, even at the HS and college level...and from what I've heard the National team level.[/quote]
