The atheist wants “No God” so as to do what is right in their own eyes, such as changing the grammar to apply pronouns for their sinful and perverse actions.

In the end, the atheist is going to get his wish: no God. The books will be opened, deeds judged, and all those who were not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire to perish.

You avoid this Lake by believing upon the name of the only begotten son of God: Jesus. There is no other name by which you can be saved, not Moses, Buddha, Allah, or any Hindu deity nor amy other name.

I was raised Catholic — I am still a Christian but not a Catholic anymore.  I agree with this comment — I never remember a single Catholic priest ever addressing this extremely basic question.

The Christian answer is that people in the Old Testament were saved the same way that people in the New Testament were — through faith in God.   It’s not really that complicated but the Catholic Church does a good job of not even explaining the basics to its members.    [/quote]

I literally didn’t even know that the Bible is a single book and that everything in the Old Testament looks forward to the New Testament and Jesus until very recently.   It’s astounding how little Catholics teach about the Old Testament and it makes religion very confusing because you don’t understand or appreciate the full story.   [/quote]
