Sure, I'll go on and be 'that guy' then. FYI, American Pit Bull Terrier is indeed a breed. They have a standard and can be registered. American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog, Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier etc. are all distinct breeds. You can't negate that by declaring at every opportunity that pit bulls are not a breed. They are and people do breed them intentionally, keep records, provide pedigrees and registration paperwork.  Any dog without a pedigree can be presumed a mutt as there is nothing to indicate otherwise.  No shade to the mutts. Everyone, hater, activist or in between needs to start using accurate descriptors. Innaccuracte reporting is responsible for a great deal of unnecessary fear and confusion. [/quote]
