Oddly the Maya Henry book is supposedly fiction but based on her life. A fictionalized version of real life events. Really blurs the line when you are talking about other public figures in it. Either write fiction or non fiction. If the abortion story is from the book - could be fact or fiction or embellished fact. Gives her an out as if challenged on anything she can say it was fiction. And while not specific to her, I think these books about my life written by young 20 somethings are ridiculous.
She has spoken out openly on her own social media and on podcasts about this and the truth of her story. There’s nothing to guess about, she very, very clearly states that he pressured her into having an abortion. So odd that you’re trying to shame a woman for writing a fictional Book based on her own experiences. It’s what many authors do.
He may have wanted her to have an abortion but it was her choice in the end. Just like likely people pressured Liam to use drugs at some point but using them was still his choice. And I think a fiction but let me trash my ex book is garbage. Either write fiction or write facts. Don’t trash someone and then hide behind but but I said it was fiction. It isn’t really based on true like if you look at how she describes herself and her background in the boom so I would assume all of it is fiction. I don’t follow social media so I have no idea what she has said. I was responding to something about how her book talks about being pressured into an abortion…but her book is fiction. Just like a lot of the details about herself that she put in the book. Fiction means not true, made up, not fact. Nothing in the book can be taken as fact or as happening.
This. I would never want to give money to someone who pulled this.
