You have to research how involved the priests are in the day to day administration of the school. At a larger Catholic school you might not have much interaction with the priests and many of the subject matter specialist teachers won't even be Catholic. Nuns can be hit or miss. For me, the local publics would have to be really really bad for me to consider it. FWIW both of my parents have always discouraged me from looking at Catholic schools.[/quote]
