Precisely the point and why an eighth grade club volleyball player should stick with club and allow kids who want to play for their high school that they actually attend- play. And this isn’t just about volleyball it’s  all the sports. You have kids doubling and tripling up on club, rec, high school teams … while others are never even given a chance to play.

Exactly this. There is no need for 8th grade players to take a team spot away from a sophomore/junior at their enrolled school along with the opportunity to play for their enrolled school. For what? It doesn’t matter for recruiting. It doesn’t matter for much of anything except deny a high school student the pride and opportunity of playing for their school on their team with their peers. Those 8th graders will play club anyway and probably will go off to visitation or GDS.
