Why isn’t the rest of the government doing their job and invoking the 25th Amendment right now?
Biden will be withdrawing from the 2024 race very soon or else he will lose in November. Either way, he'll be moving out of the The White House in January 2025. Why go through the long and painful POTUS removal process when he'll be gone in 6 months anyway?
Because Obama can control Biden and he may not be able to pull the strings of a different Democrat. That’s the real struggle here.
Obama is smart enough to know Biden has zero chance at this point. If Obama is loyal to the Dem Party and Americans, he'll urge Biden to step out of the 2024 race. If Obama is more loyal to Biden, he'll keep quiet and comfort Biden when he loses in November.
Obama has already come out post debate for Biden. It is either Biden or an autocracy, there is no other option.
I find it hard to believe Biden doesn't have the decency within him to back out of this race. Fifty years of public service in politics and government and he wants to throw any positive legacy away at the end of his career by being the guy that hand delivers a second term to Trump? I don't think so. He'll bow out gracefully.
We know Biden is cognitively impaired and most likely has some kind of atypical Parkinsons or a variant of progressive dementia, something that was deliberately hidden and covered up by the media, the Biden staffers and senior Democrats, even if their crime was more refusal to talk about it and block anyone else from asking questions about it than a deliberate conspiracy. But now here's the other secret: Biden is not sharp as a tack. He never was and he never is. Biden spent his entire career pre-Obama as a third rate mediocre senator from a minor state whose politics shifted with the prevailing winds to remain in favor with the current Democratic party leadership. He went from a 70s era antiwar Democrat to a harsh on crime and welfare Clinton Democrat to pro trans / queer progressive left Democrat of recent years, whose real record is a long list of appointing mediocre people to high office on identity grounds rather than competence. Obama picked him because he was safely useless and wouldn't threaten him and never thought highly of Biden's aptitude (if anything, he thought very lowly of Biden's aptitude). Biden's role was to be the comic sidekick that would always make Obama look better while reassuring the independent voters of 2008 that there's a safe white face on the Obama team. In 2020, Biden was trailing badly against the other contenders in the early primaries, both Peter Buttigeig and Amy Klobuchar ran rings around him intellectually. But it was his deal with Clyburn to win the black votes in the SC primary (and SC being the state it is, pretty much the only democrats in the state are black) that vaulted him into the frontrunner status and Clyburn gave him the nomination because Biden promised to set aside so many of his cabinet positions and appointees and nominations for blacks, which is why Kamala Harris, a truly awful politician who slept her way to the top, was picked for the role. Had Stacy Abrams won her governorship in 2018, she'd have been the VP nominee, not Harris. That's Joe Biden for you. And that's the whole truth. Nothing but the simple truth to the man. He is a third rate politician. And like third rate politicians, he doesn't know when to go. He lucked into the presidency. His family isn't giving up the prize when they still have a shot at it for another few years. Maybe because they're also scared that a Trump DOJ would really turn its sights on the Biden cash for influence activities big time.
+1000 God. I wish you were the President . Thanks for summing up what I’d take a thousand posts to say
