I have been told that these schools cannot use those funds to lower tuition because the endowment is earmarked for something specific other than tuition. If what you say is true, it's disgusting that these rich colleges keep the tuition that high for those who don't qualify for FA, like the donut hole families. If they lowered the tuition then they don't need to charge so much tuition. I can only assume they charge that much because they are greedy and/or they think keeping the prices that high gives it that elitist persona.[/quote]
