Also need a high GPA and an excellent reference[/quote] Just stop. Entrance exams depend on the subject; some have none. Do not need a high GPA, as has been explained. "Relevant" APs mean almost anything, just like "relevant" A-levels. Need to have an interview and be pointy in the subject, i.e. evidence of outside reading. Including all that, the admit rates range from around 10-40%. The admit rates for top unhooked students from urban areas to Top 20 national universities and top 15 SLACS? Way, way lower. Duh. From 1% to about 15%... Request for cite was to put a stop to constant information and lies. Should not be necessary if poster on this had integrity -- but that's lacking.[/quote]
