Literally just listen to the words I'm saying, think "oh it's mother's day?" and say it to me. NOPE. I had to tell my husband to teach his kids that. And I am still sulking that this grown man in his 40s couldn't make that connection. Hope any future DILs I have are cool with skipping mother's day, because that's what my sons are learning.
