We don't go on long car rides. We fly, and bring a bunch of snacks onto the plane. Dh and I are both foodies, so we're more likely to make a milkshake or fries at home.  I don't understand your point about "how people ... move ..."  Why would moving houses necessitate going to McDonalds? [/quote]

DP but there are certain situations where your family needs to eat immediately, you don't have access to a kitchen, and there's very little open or nearby. Like if you spent the day moving and it's 7:30 and you can't cook because there's no food in the house and you need to eat now, not in 40 minutes when a pizza shows up. The thing about McDonald's is that it's incredibly fast-- you can be eating within a few minutes of placing your order.[/quote]

Okay, that would never happen to us. Firstly, we are city people. There's no such thing as "very little open or nearby" in places we live or go. Secondly, if we were moving we would place an Instacart order to be delivered within an hour of us arriving at the new house. Thirdly, since we have kids, DH or I always have some snacks with us. Even though our kids are in upper elementary it's just habit at this point. Today while I was out there was dried mango and mixed nuts in my bag. If you operate as if fast food is not an option you'll find other solutions. [/quote]
