Honestly no. I gave up on that one. I drew a harder line on tops (I don’t allow anything that shows stomach at all or is low cut etc at this age). I don’t think there is a right answer (and I don’t judge other parents by what they allow- it is hard) but IME you do have to pick your battles with things like this.
What is wrong with short tops or shorts? Teen boys like that look, and that’s totally normal. Are we raising a generation of puritans?
Cool. My DD doesn’t need to choose her clothes based on what teen boys like. She is worth more than that.
+1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
No in actuality you are telling her the opposite. If your daughter likes short shorts then who gives a crap what others think? You are absurd. What showing skin is wrong? What do you do at the beach? One piece only with shorts and a t shirt on top? This whole thread is ridiculous. Raise confident daughters people not girls who worry about what they wear.
Umm, actually, yes that is what my DD does. She is super light skinned and skin cancer runs in our family. She keeps somewhat covered up, even at the beach. It's not ridiculous to want to cover up, whatever the reason is. Why do you care what people are wearing at the beach. You are the one who is absurd thinking that a girl who wears longer shorts, or a one-piece bathing suit is NOT confident. My daughter is smart, athletic and talented, regardless of whether you see her in a bikini or a one piece at the beach.
