Does anyone else worry about how flying first class will impact their kids' sense of entitlement/privilege. We have around $2m hhi and have not flown first class with the kids. both DW and i are from pretty modest backgrounds and didn't have the means to fly first class until well into adulthood. Our sense is we appreciate the finer things a lot more having come to them later in life.
It’s all relative, isn’t it? We are not nearly as wealthy but my DS just went on a spring break trip that 90% of his classmates could never afford (high poverty school). Personally I think flying first is a waste of money no matter how rich unless you are flying overnight. Have these discussions so they understand. Say “instead of spending $15k on our tickets we are spending 5k and donating $10k to the children’s hospital.”
