..and those women are miscarrying Unintended consequences of "pro-life" policies. The "forced birthers" are causing forced birth of dead babies.
Pregnant patients have “become radioactive to emergency departments” in states with extreme abortion restrictions, said Sara Rosenbaum, a George Washington University health law and policy professor. “They are so scared of a pregnant patient, that the emergency medicine staff won’t even look. They just want these people gone," Rosenbaum said.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/emergency-rooms-refused-treat-pregnant-040150594.html
That seems to violate federal law. Why is it that forced birthers have no problem going after hospitals, but prochoice advocates are cowards? https://www.cms.gov/medicare/regulations-guidance/legislation/emergency-medical-treatment-labor-act
Because it’s much more advantageous for the current administration for us to be outraged than for us to admire the swift and decisive legal action they took to protect their citizens.
Who is “they”?
The Biden-Harris administration and the Justice departing that works for them.
m What is this swift legal action you’d like to see? Are you familiar with our court system? It’s not exactly … quick.
I am! And I’ve posted this elsewhere but if the FBI came in and demanded the records of every woman who had been turned away from healthcare, and the DoJ started a civil rights investigation into each one who was from a protected class to see whether she had been treated differently based on her race (looking at you Florida…) then hospitals would be making a very different legal calculus than they are now where the only legal hazard is treatment, it’s risk-free to send women to the parking lot to almost die.
The FBI is as wrecked and ruined with right wingers as many other agencies and certainly has no interest in investigating such crimes. We saw how they treated the US gymnasts, letting them twist with the sexual assaulter in their midst. If it’s a crime against women, it seems to be okay by them. So vote Democratic because Wray was a Trump nominee and we see how that’s playing out.
