I see the board has a special 30 minute meeting for appointments only on March 7th. Maybe some of the principal positions will get filled.
Sure, the positions will all get filled. But who will fill them all?
It's possible a good number of the current acting principals who've been leading their schools since last summer will get named to the permanent positions.
Is that a good thing in all of those schools?! Many of the actings were pulled and placed before their internship commenced. The internship is a more supported process. As an acting - tag you are it - with fewer check ins and support. I truly hope it ends up well. The system is struggling as a whole so we need individual schools to win and thrive even if the system is not.
+1 That part. I think people take it for granted that teachers, principals, etc are easily replaced hence the negative treatment often seen on the board. Let this be a wake up call - there is a shortage!! Educators (teachers, principals, etc) are leaving in droves. Treat yours with respect, even when you disagree. Otherwise, when they are gone you may celebrate at first but then when you experience the replacement, it may not be as good.as what you had and didn't appreciate! I am speaking from experience! 😪
