My office thermometer right now says it's 72 and I'm frickin freezing. I don't have control over the heat but I'm so uncomfortable.
Go here and treat yourself to one of these, keep it at the office and you'll never be cold again. https://www.houseofbruar.com/search/?term=cardigan&gender=female&page=2
I'm already wearing a sweater and my office hoodie. Still miserable.
If that's true then setting the thermostat higher wouldn't warm you up and would be a massive waste of resources. If you're wearing layers then the air close to your body is warm and you should perceive that warmth and be comfortable. Sounds like you might be someone who runs cold, but might also have circulation issues - are your hands and feet especially cold? Other things you might look into include a heating pad for your office chair, or space heater close to your desk area. Also, a humidifier in your office during winter - the same 72 feels very different in a low humidity environment than it does in a high humidity environment. But no, having seen this ongoing battle in offices over four decades - it doesn't make sense for the building to be made warmer than 72. The individuals who persist in feeling cold at a temperature that in spring and fall they'd never complain about have to focus on fixing what's wrong in their perception of cold via other means - humidity, space heating, layering clothing, etc. The issue here is your perception of cold.
