Have been ttc for about 2 years, although it's further complicated with the fact my husband works out of the country every other month. Had an endometrial polyp removed in April, however my gyno said I could not begin to do infertility workup until a year after the procedure for it to be covered by insurance. Is this correct? Any info appreciated--thanks!
I guess that would depend on your insurance. This was not an issue for me. I was about to start my IVF cycle and a polyp was discovered and removed. I proceeded with that cycle and conceived. Prior to pursuing ART I had another polyp removed and it did not present a barrier to me getting coverage for a work up for IF. That said, there is a belief that polyps prevent conception - or can prevent conception - so perhaps the gyno suspects a polyp might have been to blame for your troubles ttc. Even so, I would absolutely check with your insurance company. This sounds like an unusual policy.
