No but playing through the midfield means your forwards are getting the ball around the box or the final third of the field instead around the center third. It makes a huge difference as the game goes on.

Not playing through the midfield means your forwards are constantly making long runs in to 1vs2 situations. The older the players the less likely that will amount to anything. One player will take the ball, the player will body out the forward. It’s a very easy concept. [/quote]

That’s not how they play in the ECNL. It’s more like rugby vs soccer. ECNL players lack technical skills and the speed of play is too slow to play any other way. Same in college. Anyone watch the Florida St v Clemson game? [/quote]

great for you that you have this view.  Not really relevant to anything though.  College is what it is and ECNL is the top leauge by a mile for college.  Most ECNL girls are looking to use soccer for college.  So what if it like rugby?[/quote]
