She paid for a fully cooked complete ready-to-eat Thanksgiving dinner (so figure, turkey/meat, sides, desserts, etc.) for [u]TWENTY[/u] people. That is surely a very big wad of cash. Quite possibly comes out to as much as the other families' expenditures for food for the shared house. You should be impressed by OP's generosity, frankly.
