Where do underachieving East Asian kids go to college? In VA, mostly JMU, GMU, VCU
What do you mean by this? Someone who once got a B?
You can still go to UVA, VT, W&M with once got a B
Responses like these are either ignorant or intentionally seeking to discourage others. Review the goddamned CDS! Through the completed junior year of one’s high school experience, assuming 7 classes per school year and a grade every semester (2x year): Unweighted GPA on 4.00 scale 41 As + 1 B = 3.98 40 As + 2 Bs = 3.95 39 As + 3 Bs = 3.93 38 As + 4 Bs = 3.90 37 As + 5 Bs = 3.88 36 As + 6 Bs = 3.86 35 As + 7 Bs = 3.83 34 As + 8 Bs = 3.81 You can get more than 1 B and still go to those schools. Maybe not this particular applicant b/c of other limitations, but roll up to UVA, VT or W&M as a full pay OOS applicant with a 3.81 unweighted GPA, 4.29 weighted GPA from a top high school across the country, 14 AP classes, 5s on at least 10 AP exams, 1600 SAT score, great ECs, and strong essays and I’ll place tall stacks of high society that it will be your choice which of the three you want to attend next year. With 8 Bs.
