Why not?[/quote] I am the person who left a sick 6-year-old at home for 10 minutes to do the school run. We have a landline and I taught my kids how to use the phone. They also knew to walk next door to the neighbors (who were retired and always home) in case of emergency. If I got into a wreck I would just ask the neighbor or another school mom to go check on my son. That is what communities are for.[/quote]
