I do not think that anyone cares (or at least I do not) that parents are bequeathing their wealth to their children or that some parents give gifts of money early for estate planning purposes.  The question was more focused on children that are [i]supported[/i] by their parents, whether through inheritance or regular checks.  I think the hostility is towards adult children that rely on this generosity and live beyond their individual means while either (1) behaving as if they are self-made or (2) expressing the superiority of their choices (private school, 5 bedroom house in Cleveland Park, whatever) towards those that actually have to pay for expenses with earned money that cannot afford the same.[/quote]
