Previous posters are wrong. Beauvoir uses Orton Gillingham along with its own syncretic workshop approach.
Have you asked them? You know “workshop” is Calkins right? I’ve asked - nothing official has been changed. So if they’ve changed in the last 3 weeks since school started and not told anyone kudos - but nothing formal has been announced.
Lucy Calkins does not own the term "workshop"!!!
Reading and Writing Workshop existed before, alongside and will exist after Lucy Calkins + Teacher's College + Heinemann + $$$$. It is an approach that responded to some of what was ineffective about basal readers, and that can include much of science of reading. It's an approach/framework, not a curriculum. It's a pity that the waters are so muddied right now by the arrogance and no, and the naivete of those who took the bait.
Can you tell me what this means?
